As of March 12, 2026, Subfossil Oak officially completed its participation in Expo 2025 through the Forest of Civilizations project, following the formal handover of the allocated site back to the Expo Association.
The Forest of Civilizations featured a unique 6,500-year-old subfossil forest, symbolically telling the story of the planet’s development and the evolution of human society. The installation included 133 rare oak trunks from the Czech Republic, each dedicated to one of the national pavilions at Expo 2025.
The total costs associated with the project amounted to EUR 11,682,000, and all related obligations were fully settled.
